A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors Original 1987 Video Promo Standee. Extremely rare cardboard Australian video store promo standee from 1987. When I was a horror fan growing up in the late 80’s in Perth Western Australia, these were used to promote Dream Warriors in the horror sections of video stores around the city. They sat high above the horror section shelves in Jumbo Video, Instant Replay Video and Belmont Forum Video from around’87 to early’89. Promo standees like this were used for long lengths of time back then. As far as I know, these were never used in any territory outside of Australia – Ive not been able to find any evidence of this anyway, and I’ve looked online since 1997. These were made by Warner Bros for distribution in Australia only, making them extremely rare. I’ve held on to these for a long loooooong time. If you check my horror poster listings, you’ll find other vintage horror posters collected from the same time period that are in far worse condition due to the deterioration of paper. Condition is very good, considering how old they are. One of the most unique and imposing pieces of Freddy promo memorabilia ever made. Freddy’s glove is displayed on both the base and as an attached 3D’pop-up’ accessory. These started to detach from the base many years ago and have been reattached to the main piece. The 3D glove is not meant to be removed but can be, leaving the 2D picture beneath – I won’t be removing it myself because I don’t want to damage this rare piece (there are some marks and very slight damage to the back of this but you won’t see it when displayed from the front). I’ve been waiting a long time for the right time to offload these – that time is now. Measures 41.5 cm’s high x 27.5 cm’s long. An amazing piece to sit on the shelf of your Bluray/4K UHD collection or mancave display.
